FAQs
Not usually. Sometimes there is some discomfort or soreness after the first few visits, but that is to be expected when you are correcting posture. Your muscles and joints are "used to" being in the "wrong" positions, so when they need to catch up, you can be sore as if you just started working out.

Dr. Pulley's style of adjusting is especially safe because she only adjusts what your body needs at that moment - and usually your body is very "ready" to be back in proper alignment. She also goes slow and explains everything beforehand, so anything you are nervous about can be addressed.

Can you do chiropractic on children?
3
Yes! Obviously it is a little different than adjusting an adult, but she has adjusted an infant as young as 2 weeks. Infants and children do not have a lifetime of injuries to work through, so the adjustments are often profound - and your little one does not typically need more than a few visits to get back on track.
Do you work with pregnant women?
4
Yes, and the earlier in your pregnancy, the better. A lot of women have their pelvis tilted forward due to tight hip flexors from their lumbar spines being misaligned, which can make carrying and delivering the baby more difficult. Additionally, a lot of women deal with low back pain, hip pain, and sciatica, which can be prevented or minimized with chiropractic treatment.
Acupuncture can be very helpful for the stress and nausea associated with pregnancy. Soon-to-be mamas need their quiet time too!
Not usually! The needles I use are about the thickness of a human hair. But if you have any spots that are particularly sensitive, we can always skip them that day.

What is acupuncture good for?

Honestly, almost anything except weight loss! (Weight loss is primarily food-related; check out our YouTube channel for more!)
The most common conditions I treat are:
Allergies and asthma
Stress / anxiety / depression
Digestive issues (constipation, nausea, diarrhea, reflux)
Pain
Headaches and migraines
PMS and other menstrual challenges
Fertility challenges
No. Unfortunately, chiropractic and acupuncture are not properly covered by insurance. Typically, they will only cover 12-20 chiropractic visits in a year, which is not enough if you are working through a problem. Acupuncture coverage varies wildly.
Additionally, reimbursements are lower for providers every year - as if our rent and utilities aren't rising like everyone else's.
Most people feel ignored or unheard by their doctors, and a lot of that is because of insurance - they get paid less than ever before, so they need to see more people just to make ends meet. That means rushing through appointments as fast as possible.
What I guarantee to you is that I will give you my best at each and every visit. By not taking insurance, I have time to actually listen to your concerns, formulate a plan, and spend time educating and answering your questions. I believe that most people genuinely are interested in getting better, and one of the best ways I can help you is by giving you tools and understanding so you can make more thoughtful health decisions every day, which leads to big impacts down the road.
